MALAWI SUSPENDS ALL FOREIGN TRIPS

Malawian President Lazarus Chakwera has suspended all foreign trips by government officials including himself and his cabinet ministers.

Hello friends. As you can see this is a very drastic move by the President of Malawi. The country is going through some hurdles in terms of finances. Thing are not going well. So no government official will travel out of Malawi any more. Obviously as you can imagine, government officials travel in the most expensive way possible.

The country is going through difficulty in terms of finances. Unlike many other African countries, who would have gone to the World Bank and IMF asking for money. Asking for money for construction, etc.. Very rarely do they use the money for construction anyway. Most times they ask for money to construct schools and hospitals. Then they end up building their own villas. I am not saying that is the case in Malawi.

Malawi has to come up with a solution to curb this financial problem. Have you listened to the Malawian presidents speech? His American accent is top notch.

I wrote a post about how Malawi sent it’s youngsters to Israel to work on the Israeli farm. In return they got $60 million dollars. I was asking why? Why did Malawi do that? Now I guess I am getting my answer. They did so because Malawi is going through a difficult time and they needed the money so badly.

The Malawian president doesn’t want to be blamed for the financial mess. So he is ready to make painful decisions. Painful decisions such as cutting cost and making big adjustment in spending. Imagine, the Malawian president had to negotiate with the politicians to make adjustments in spending. In Africa, one of the quickest way to become rich is you either go into politics or you start a church. Sorry I am just saying the truth.

Look at the DRC Congo. They are running election for MPs and they have over 20,000 candidates. 20,000 people in Congo want to be MPs. The MP will earn about $21,000 dollars. That is good fund for the family.

Malawi had to devaluate its currency in order to give it an opportunity. They have devaluated it already two times because thing are not well. This is principally because the system in which we African countries operate is not ok. The system is the Western System. Do you think they created this system for us to become rich? The system wasn’t made for us Africans.
