The Israeli Defense Force killed three Israeli hostages. The thought they were suicide bombers. The IDF came out with a statement that they bear full responsibility for the deaths of the three killed. Yhey claim that it was a accident. They said the tragic error occurred in a Gaza neighborhood. A lot of people poured out on the street of Israel to protest the killing in outrage.
This has prompted Netanyahu to start opening up dialogue with Hamas to try and secure the release of the hostages. Netanyahu has allowed his Mossad chief to go to Qatar to negotiate with Hamas. This negotiation will be through the Qatari MPs. Hamas had been in favor of a cease fire and negotiations since after October 7, 2023. This will be the first meeting between senior Israeli and Qatari officials since the seven-day ceasefire.
This tragic development has pushed Netanyahu to seek negotiation with Hamas for the release of the hostages. Netanyahu is running out of road to keep this war going. We will see what happens from this negotiation between Israel, Qatar and Hamas. Maybe it might lead to another ceasefire.
